Robert Erhard

Cellist Robert Erhard holds a BM from CU Boulder where he studied with Judith Glyde and Thomas Heinrich and an MM from Eastman where he served as teaching assistant under Alan Harris. During his time at CU he received outstanding freshman, junior and graduating senior awards and won the concerto competition, performing the Schumann Cello Concerto. In Boulder, he has recently appeared as soloist and principal cello for the Boulder Bach Festival’s 2015 – 2019 seasons and regularly plays in the section of orchestras such as Boulder Philharmonic, ProMusica Colorado and Fort Collins Symphony. He is cellist of the Ceres Quartet and is performing with the Altius Quartet for the 2018 – 2019 season. He has studied chamber music with members of the Takacs, Ying, Borodin, Brentano and Juilliard Quartets. He recently participated in Juilliard String Quartet Seminar and Aspen Music Festival Center for Advanced Quartet studies with Ceres Quartet and has participated in festivals such as Kneisel Hall, Bowdoin International Music Festival and Orvieto Musica. Passionate about expanding his musical horizons, he has performed extensively as part of Indian – Western fusion trio, Sands Around Infinity, performing across America, in Germany and in India, releasing an album in 2015.
