Jenna Hunt

Jenna Hunt began studying harp at age 9 after she had already been studying piano for 5 years. In high school, while she enjoyed playing harp in her local youth symphony and honor orchestras, Ms. Hunt also studied concert and marching percussion. Her music has taken her all around the world: to the local stages of the Paramount Theater and Boettcher Concert Hall, to Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center in New York, and all the way to the international stages of the Sydney Opera House and the Shanghai Performing Arts Center. In 2013, Ms. Hunt performed at the studio of Colorado Public Radio with Colorado’s jazz artist and composer, Patrick Lee, for his album Limberlost. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2015 with her Bachelor of Music degree in jazz studies and was immediately hired as the harp instructor at Colorado College in Colorado Springs. There, she taught for two years while also completing her Graduate Performance Certificate in harp at the University of Denver. In 2016, she completed this certificate and received the Outstanding Graduate Performance award for her final recital.

Today, Jenna performs as a freelance and studio musician in local orchestras and ensembles, and for touring musicians. In December 2017, Ms. Hunt shared the stage with the rock group, Evanescence, and recently performed with international phenomenon, Sarah Brightman. She has also performed with the Colorado Wind Ensemble, the Colorado Springs Philharmonic, and the Boulder Symphony, among others. Pulling inspiration from her percussion and jazz background, Jenna has composed and recorded her own unique style of music, dabbling in the world of singing. She has a full studio of private students in areas along the Front Range, as well as a studio at the Neighborhood Music in Stapleton where she teaches harp and piano. She plans on attending the University of Denver in Fall 2019 to complete her MM in harp performance by Fall 2020. In her spare time, Jenna Hunt enjoys competing in ultimate frisbee, spending time with her rescue dog, Charlie, and trying new foods.
